Steady is built by one person. If something's broken, confusing, or just bad, the fastest path to a fix is to email me directly.

Common questions

I lost my saved responses after switching phones.

If you were using Steady anonymously, your saved items live on the original device. To carry them across phones, sign in with Apple from Settings on the original device first — your anonymous account gets upgraded in place, then the same Apple ID will pull everything down on the new device.

How do I delete my data?

Open Settings inside the app and tap "Sign out" — that wipes the local store and disassociates you from the server-side record. To delete the server-side record entirely, email [email protected] from the address tied to your account.

Does Steady send notifications?

Steady never sends push notifications. If you want, you can set up one daily local reminder during onboarding (or from Settings) — it lives on your device, fires at the time you picked, and we never see whether you opened it. That's the only notification Steady will ever do.

Is Steady a substitute for a doctor or therapist?

No. Steady is a momentary grounding tool — something to read in 10 seconds when you can't think. For anything medical, behavioral, or ongoing, please talk to a professional. The app surfaces real crisis lines for your country when the situation calls for it.

What are repair, glimmers, and the shadow drawer?

Repair is a separate flow for after you've already snapped — it walks you through a short script to mend the moment, age-tuned to your kid. Glimmers and the shadow drawer are two small journals: one for the tiny good moments (a laugh, a soft hand), one for the thoughts you'd never say out loud. Both live only on your device. Neither is sent to our server, ever, and neither is analyzed.

I have feedback or a feature idea.

Send it. [email protected] goes straight to the maker. Every email is read.

The app is broken.

Email with: what you tapped, what you expected, what happened, your iOS version, and your Steady version (Settings → About). Screenshots help.
